Riveted (A Novel of the Iron Seas)

Riveted - Meljean Brook I was surprised to be disappointed by this book as I really enjoyed the first two in the series.

The world was still very interesting but the scope seemed diminished. The books focus was on the exploration of morals rather than on the exploration of the world which weakened the story. There was an opportunity to shift the focus to the New World but the author chose to just scrape the surface and delve deeper into various forms of discrimination.

The writing while still good seemed weaker as well ... I'm not sure if the book was rushed or if there was a new editor working with the author either way the result was not very good.

I also did NOT care for the main characters. Though not weak or cowardly they were both so insecure that it made me want to scream!
