The Elegance of the Hedgehog

The Elegance of the Hedgehog - Muriel Barbery Hmmmm ... what'd I think? I'm very glad I read this book and will probably reread it for my favorite bits but at the same time I don't think of this as a good work of fiction.
I absolutely loved the concepts addressed in the book. The nature and appreciation of beauty in all it's forms.
I sometimes loved and other times loathed the style of language used - at times it seemed well suited to the subject under discussion and at others it felt intentionally convoluted.
I didn't care for the plot ... often I felt as if this was a dissertation on beauty being wedged into a work of literary fiction ... and badly.

I will reread for the dissertation not the story.
