The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time - Mark Haddon I enjoyed this book very much. I loved that the voice/language the author used matched the character of the narrator. I loved how the world and the people in it came to life so vibrantly and realistically.

Specifically, my favorite bit was that Christophers parents were so beautifully drawn in all their weaknesses and strengths. And I loved how the story ended - it was the perfect ending in my opinion, the only way such a tale could have ended.

There have been some mentions in other reviews that the second part of the book is a tad slow. I agree but I can't think how it could have been handled differently. The overwhelming intensity of Christophers experiences on his adventure meant they had to be cataloged and so they were. At times it felt like too much detail but I think that was the point that it was all too much for Christopher.

I can see myself rereading this one some time in the future.
